COVID Response

In March of 2020, staff and patients throughout ARCH health centers faced a new health challenge: COVID-19. The virus has upended the provision of health care and has left no one unaffected. Whether helping affiliated clinics to develop COVID-safe procedures for everyday care, helping to increase capacity to test and treat COVID patients, or coordinating with the county to deploy vaccines, ARCH has supported health centers in response to the crisis in a myriad of ways.

During the pandemic, ARCH and our member health centers have:

  • Convened partners across the health delivery system, including our health centers, county Public Health, and our local hospital system to mount an effective and equitable response to COVID

  • Administered more than 50,000 doses of COVID vaccines

  • Made regular and ongoing COVID testing available in communities across Mendocino county

  • Convened cross-sector, collaborative working groups to address inequities in local health care systems

What’s Next

ARCH health centers will continue to provide COVD care and COVID-safe environments for their clients, and will also work collaboratively to help solve the staffing crises facing healthcare. ARCH is leading the development of at least two county-wide employment projects: the creation of a medical assistant training project and the hiring of Community Health Workers to reach out to under-served communities in our county.
