Any emergency that overwhelms or threatens to overwhelm the routine capabilities of an organization is a disaster. ARCH and its member clinics seek to be prepared to respond to a natural or human-made disaster or other emergencies in a manner that protects the health and safety of individuals and that is coordinated with a community-wide response to a large-scale disaster.
The Emergency Preparedness Program facilitates communications, plan development, and trainings for member clinics. The Program collaborates with the local Hospital Preparedness Program and the Statewide Emergency Preparedness Peer Network. From these and other organizations, the Program shares best practices and resources with member clinics. The Program strongly encourages all clinics to participate in the State and Local drills.
